What they don't mention is that the earth becoming inhospitable is at least a few thousand years away, if ever. What's more mars is completely uninhabitable by humans on a mass scale. Its gravity is too different, its temperatures are too low and its atmosphere is virtually nonexistent.
However it does have mining potential. Obvs the cost of developing the technology to mine on mars and other planets is crazy high. So they sell this mars colony idea and then use tax dollars to develop the technology.
When mining mars becomes a reality tho, who you think will suddenly be the ones going there doing the mining? Big business of course. Using this new technology that we all paid for and developed. By rights it belongs to all of us.
You think they'll be sharing those mining profits with us all?
Or is it more likely they'll be selling the metals and minerals they bring back to us as products?

And the useful idiots are quite useful in this regard! -

Its 'Him and Haw' but ok -

Because the pursuit of miniaturization and advanced avionics, metalurgy, industrial plastics, fuel tech, refrigeration, etc- has had massive impacts on pretty much every area of modern life?
Because the conception of our place in the order/disorder of the universe can and has given humanity a common purpose aside from petty tribalism and nationalism?
Because why the fuck not? I mean we spend money teaching African men to wash their dicks to stem the spread of AIDS. I think space exploration is a more worthwhile and accomplishable goal. -
2019-05-05 at 7:54 AM UTCAlso- none of us would have been able to take a picture of a black hole is someone paid us an obscene sum of money. Considering that light apparently gets sucked into the hole beyond the event horizon, im curious how they even got this picture. Can stray photons be "gathered" in a particular place? Idk shit about shit so im really just high and imagining stuff and im too lazy to google it right now.

To hem and haw means to dither, to speak hesitantly, usually because one is unprepared to speak or is attempting to avoid saying something in particular. Hem and haw is also used to mean to be indecisive. Related phrases are hems and haws, hemmed and hawed, hemming and hawing.
https://grammarist.com/phrase/hem-and-haw-or-hum-and-haw/
The term hem and haw first appeared in the 1630s. The word hem is an imitative word of a throat clearing, and the word haw is related to the term haw-haw, which references a haughty British accent. The phrase hem and haw is primarily an American term.
We're all wrong -

Then why don't they just say that then instead of constantly spoon feeding everyone this crap about mars colonies? You know when they bullshitin you there is always an alternative agenda.

Because the average retard cares more about hoverboards and rocket boots than they do about improved fertilizers, refrigeration and zero-gravity propulsion techniques. -

I don't blink a lot.
prolly thyroid or graves disease with the "hungry Eyes"i haz
but I have the UI white background, and I blinked because my eyes are tired and dry, and it's giving me a hallucinating FX. it's rippling (Your photo of the black hole)
as for the blurry photo being a waste of money, it's baby steps. But it doesn't matter. we should focus on Mars and the Moon.. perhaps with Humans and those Phobo's and other moons of Saturn.. or Jupiter or whatever. in 100 years, we can travel near speed of light and perhaps visit planets around the nearest star 8 light years away.. or is it 4?
anyways one of the moons of Saturn may have fresh water with animal life. wouldn't that be a fucking trip? -

Have you any idea what the gforce effects on the body would be if you actually travelled at light speed?

You wouldn't actually be travelling at light speed, though. Your "vehicle" would be, but you wouldn't be. It would be like you got from Point A to Point B in zero seconds. Inside the vehicle, you are cocooned inside a special field, a bubble, if you will, which is entirely outside space and time as we know it. No movement through regular space and time occurs inside the bubble. That's how the principles of quantum mechanics work. -

2019-05-10 at 12:07 AM UTCAnd even the physical vehicle itself doesn't really travel through real time and space at light speed. It generates a special field, which allows it to escape the confines of this reality. The actual vehicle is the field itself, not the ship.

So by your logic astronaut's going to space in a rocket don't feel any gforce because the rocket is a bubble?

You're just SciFi talking is all. Completely theoretical. My point was that light speed travel wouldn't be like an episode of star trek. The gforce in reality light speed travel would leave you as a very thin blood and shit colored painting on the rear wall of your ship.
