    I tell them it's never been safe but it's never been this fucked up before. I mean there was always some weirdo going edgy.

    the Durant Hotel Iranian Hostage that one year in the 80s or early 90s where some Iranian dude flipped out and shot some students from Cal. was one of the more notable things that happen beside the insane protest of the 60s.

    but Peoples park was a community park built by the hippys for houses not bombs to protest the war and lack of student housing and affordable homes and care for out of work people.

    It's never been an idea place to walk after dark. anything was always a possibility and now it's an ongoing one.
