Literally Nothing Matters

    I can even look at my Google Maps history and it's just mind blowingly surreal.

    It looks like I sat outside the grocery store for like an hour, then took a cab (or hitchhiked... It was vehicular speeds) to a bar. I was at that bar for half an hour. I then walked to the nearby gas station and bought an egg salad sandwich (I found it on my floor the next morning next to the receipt).

    I also texted some people.

    I remember none of it.

    Its so fucking creepy and weird.

    Why the fuck does anyone do anything? Are we just a bunch of automata striving to create our own legacy?

    To what end, though? Does any of that shit matter once the very biological matter we consist of decomposes?

    Why carry on this farce? Like, for real, why do the rest of you do it?

    I feel like a fool for carrying on without being able to answer what should really be an incredibly simple question.

    "Why?"

    I simply do not know how to answer that.

    No. You're right. None of this matters. Remember that next time some drunk guy tries to roll you and your friends in front of your women. Remember it the next time a drifting fiend tries to camp in your living room. Especially remember it the next time a woman tries to walk on ya.

    Get what you want.

    The lives we are living now are not the lives we were meant to live. That's exactly why it makes no sense.

    That's sad man I hope you get better. I can't help but feel sorry for what you feel is a hopeless situation. I think you beat yourself up too much about what happened in the past, especially ex's etc. I too think about years wasted but there's fuck all we can do but move ahead with what we got.

    I do genuinely believe you are resigning yourself to a slow uneeded death. It's understandable how people can fall into a vicious cycle of binge drinking then alcoholism. You do have unfortunate luck sometimes and what appears to be setbacks that could have otherwise projected you forward. You mentioned some important work on a damaged hardrive? I'm surprised you don't wake up and all your shit is gone when you have these blackouts surrounded by low life.

    You will drink then just feel negative and dote on the past, fuck-that! Get back to the old you.

    This thread made me think of that movie with Jim Belushi training an apprentice hitman for the mafia. They throw a knife at a phone book, and the name that the tip sticks into is the first person the apprentice has to kill. It turns out to be a depressed suicidal goth type woman. But when they fire a shot at her and miss, she realizes someone's trying to kill her, and stops being depressed, tries to track down and kill both the hitmen. She ends up being recruited at the end. That was a cool film.

    I have no friends or family left. Nobody cares about me, I have literally hundreds of enemies and I'm dying. Tragic things have happened to anyone I've ever cared about. But still not depressed. Kinda happy actually. I wish I could slap some of you. Slap some sense into you.

    EDIT: here's a good emo song for you

    EDIT2: The band called Christian Death is good if you really want to be depressed and emo

    I can't imagine how painful this mindset would be if I did have that "worker bee" gene, the one that causes most people to have an insatiable desire to produce and accomplish things. Which I'm assuming you have, 'zooks, given how much you seem to enjoy/crave being productive. I feel bad for you. Because these questions really don't have a good answer, just a bunch of answers that - if you're lucky - you'll be able to accept.

    "Why?"

    I simply do not know how to answer that.

    Tiger got to hunt,
    Bird got to fly;
    Man got to sit and wonder, "Why, why, why?"

    Tiger got to sleep,
    Bird got to land;
    Man got to tell himself he understand.

    It's in our nature to look for patterns and seek meaning. This is basically the cause of all religious and spiritual myths. But meaning isn't something the world has, meaning is something man gives to the world. God said, "Let Us make living creatures out of mud, so the mud can see what We have done." And God created every living creature that now moveth, and one was man. Mud as man alone could speak. God leaned close as mud as man sat up, looked around, and spoke. Man blinked. "What is theĀ purposeĀ of all this?" he asked politely.

    "Everything must have a purpose?" asked God.

    "Certainly," said man.

    "Then I leave it to you to think of one for all this," said God.

    Instead of looking for the purpose and meaning in all of this, make your own purpose, make your own meaning.

    Because there really is nothing else, and it's just a way of distracting yourself from the absurd reality you are a part of. But as strange and mysterious as it is eventually you will get tired of wondering. You will get tired of doing very much at all. It will become very exhausting trying to maintain yourself, being yourself. You will start to lose your self little by little until it becomes very easy to let it all slip away and let yourself be swept away by the current and you will crumble apart and finally you will have returned back to the dust, so it goes.

    Ghost Black Hole
    The only reason to exist is to survive. We are the best most well built creatures in the universe for survival which is how we got so advanced. It's a blessing and a curse, we have technology to make life easier but we lost our purpose as mortal beings.

    The only thing that gives me hope is knowing I am not yet strong enough to survive in space. Conquering the stars is the ultimate survival and will revitalize the human spirit.
