Wireless is cheaper across long distances and can be just as or even more reliable. It just makes more sense.
You also don't have do deal with all the bullshit digging up a road or hanging cables involves.
And you can upgrade easily when the system gets old (very few electronics live past 50 years old) or improvements come along.
I'm on a fixed wireless connection now. DSL out here sucks. -

your parents cant possibly handle the speed of modern day 4g internet they might lose control and crash into a wall.
