I thought about that when I watched Breaking Bad. Like the kids in Mr. White's science classes just thinking of him as a boring old teacher when in fact he's a meth kingpin. Though as time went on he certainly gained a lot of respect and credibility within the 'drug community' at least, but to then have to just be a regular Joe dad and do regular Joe things would kinda suck. I really felt sorry for him when I'd see him holding his baby daughter or making small talk at the dinner table, not that there's anything wrong with those things, I just wanted him to be killing people and robbing trains.

There's too much technology.
If it's real money, like over 10k, you can't spend it or lie about where you got it.
Everything is electronic.
Your best idea is to spend a few hundred dollars every weekend at the casino and try and get a huge win with risky bets.
But they know people launder money like this so you can get caught doing this too.
A friend with a grocery store won't be able to clean 100k.
It's pointless. You can't spend the money on much.
Maybe a new TV and your groceries.
Definitely not a new car.
You might think you're getting away with it, but they're probably building a case, waiting to find who else is involved, and then asset confiscation when they take the whole network down.

So by that token, you can buy the new car and bring all that attention, and make yourself more likely to get caught.
All large deposits and transactions trip computer software. Which can automatically cross check your tax return and decide if the matter needs human attention.

Use your legitimate income to pay for things on paper (Mortgage, car payments, bills, etc)
Use the illegitimate money to cover things that can be paid for with cash (groceries, gas, jedielries/gifts for family, day care, clothes, etc)
I mean you're not going to use your drug money to purchase or a house, that's just unrealistic. But what you can do is make all your daily expenses cash based. If you have a wife or a mother, it's very easy to just give them cash and have them deposit it into their bank account to help cover expenses that accrue as part of your household and just make it look like they're paying for it all.
Above all save. I cannot stress this enough. Nothing lasts forever. Use that cash to pay for things at wal mart or the grocery store for the rest of your life while using legitimate income (SSI/Job) to pay for things that are actually traceable.
If you're too stupid to realize that you're probably not going to be too successful.
Alternatively, buy gold with cash, hold for a reasonable amount of time, and resell later claiming it was a family heirloom.
But don't actually do any of this because it's illegal and I was only giving ideas that i"m using in a book I'm writing.
