What would ease racial tensions in the US?
-
2019-04-01 at 3:10 AM UTCMany black persons myself included believe that reparations are owed. However this may be unrealistic at this point. Basically we are on the verge of some helter skelter shit and both sides blacks and whites are becoming increasingly aggressive and radical in their beliefs. It seems like 10 years ago we were in a much better position than we are now.
I think the rise of secularism plays a part in this, we all need God but we turn away from Him. -

I think you're onto something there. If everyone had unlimited yang-drugs we could all be too fucked up all the time to have racial tensions. Only drugs have the power to heal america. -

this is likely due to living conditions and cost of living; people only start to worry about things like this when their lives drop below a certain level of 'comfort' -

I'm talking more about this 'perceived escalation' though. 'Race relations' in the US have been bad for a long time for a bunch of different reasons, but has anything really changed in that regard in the last decade? Most people like to blame the other side, ie. the escalation of Antifa and 'Cultural Marxism' or Trump and 'White Nationalism' depending on who you ask, but these things are symptoms of people becoming more entrenched in enclaves of race, culture, ideology and whatever else.
People only turn to these enclaves of 'common interest' in such numbers when they feel threatened - different groups have different specific interests, but the common thread here is a lack of security. Lack of job and financial security, lack of security of the survival of their family or group etc.
Alternative answer: LESS NIGGERS -

I think it's mostly the left's "politification" of interracial violence, and the right's reactionary response to such that's causing the perceived worsening of race relations
I don't think race relations "IRL" are changing much at all, at least not from what I see, which is not much
Solution: Americans need to turn off the fucking TV -

We just need to try harder, fellow whites.
Paying reparations will help, but it's only step 1 on a healing process that will never end. -
