I mean what are they doing anyway? People like to say oh I know he or she is looking down on me.Is that what heaven is? You just watch people on earth. That doesnt sound like paradise to me

When my father died I had a hard time with believeing my Dad could see my Mom and her sadness. Heaven is supposed to be happiness, how could my Dad be happy seeing my Mom’s heart broken?

So I went to my catholic priest. He said that people don’t really see us, because they are overwhelmed with, and drawn into awe of God.

It used to be that the dead died and would be awakened on judgement day/the rapture by Jesus.

That's why Catholics traditionally disliked cremation.

It's also why so many Christians want/wanted judgement day to occur within their lifetimes - so they wouldn't have to die.

Are you being serious or is that a catholic joke? Some guy said people in heaven dont actually see us so that's what you believe?

I wasn’t taught that in catholic school. I was told that our soul immediately goes to heaven. If we’re good, of course.

Didn’t say that’s what I believe, I’m just imparting my experience with you.

As an (former) evangelical Christian I've always believed that good/bad has nothing to do with it and its simply about accepting Christ and asking for forgiveness.

    Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

I believe it’s faith in God we are supposed to believe in.

Don’t know if that came out right. We are to always have faith in God.

Well sure, faith in God is sort of implied to begin with if you believe in God.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I was taught that if my faith in God is unwavering, he will always be there for me, now and in the afterlife.

Sure, that makes sense. That's a Catholic thing. What defines "unwavering faith" is certainly up to interpretation but i understand.

I honestly think NASA might help out but someone like Elon Musk will have a privatized mission to Mars (Unmanned at first) then a Man mission (women too) to circle the planet up close and take more intense upclose video and then perhaps work a rover in real time, from the safety of a orbiting modual before returning and finally doing a walk on the planet.

this is a very intense mission of being in space for 9 months, then walking on the planet, trying to rebuild the muscles that atrify kicks in. and then maybe spend a few days landing and rocketing back.. refueling and repeat.

one day, they could remote a rover in near time from an orbiting modual that locks stationary over orbit and maybe cruise around in the Valles Marineris where they'll find a cave and maybe some shit will be breathing down inside it. maybe find an underground Alien World. FUCK YA
