   I second minivan. Minivans are by far the cheapest way to step into a V8 with pretty good towing.

   When shopping make sure the check engine light is not on. Emissions are hard to fix. A truck for $1000 is a money pit like the one you are considering. Clutch job $700-1000 alone...

   emission can be easily be fixed by installing a turbocharger.
