I wanna talk a little bit about "post-ingestive feedback"

Ever notice how junk food will make you slower, tireder and stupider?

I actually think people eat unhealthy food for the same reason people drink. The brain associates the action with a reward sensation, and seeks more and more.

When you observe their actions humans turn out to be not much more than a brain stem seeking dopamine rewards for itself, with the higher brain functions just along for the ride.

I have, but I'm not sure why that actually is if it's not high sugar content. I just know that I feel better eating healthy than I've ever felt in my entire life. People who haven't eaten healthy or exercised regularly think that shit is a sham to get you to do it, but I probably wouldn't be doing it otherwise because I don't really give a fuck about my body. I'll probably die of a heart attack anyway cuz genetics. I just want to feel good.

    Anyway, /thread.

pregnant women have craving too when their bodies sense a lacking in essential nutriens.

if you want to eat healthy, stay away from sardines.

eversince fukushima seafoods are nothing but radioactive waste.

Neat thread, OP. Makes me feel like shit for what I’m eating for lunch at this very moment.

What do you think is more important - a good diet or good exercise?

Sorry your thread got shat upon.

There's so clearly truth to this that it is in fact mind-boggling to consider how many people, particularly so in America I suppose, partake in diets vastly stemmed on fats and sugars and processed foods, while having the knowledge that a better diet, quite simply, could help them/us/me that much better.

Of course it's also no at all mind-boggling in the sense that as glam described, it's sort of hard-wired into us. Maybe soft-wired. Is that a thing? Soft-wire my ass.

In my happiest days I was eating much healthier than I am lately, but case in thread's point I'm now used to shitty food to satiate my cravings and the convenience factor makes it that much easier to not want to put forth more effort into making a HEARTY AND HEALTHY meal.

Anyway I'm getting a crock pot this week and eating nothing but chicken and rice and vegetables for the next 8 years.

I think that's a pointless question because obviously they're both important, but if I have to choose I'd say diet is more important. If you eat like shit, exercise still isn't going to do shit. You'll keep on the weight, not grow as much muscle, etc. But if you eat well and don't exercise, you're still gonna be relatively okay.

You don't have to exercise much though. Just go for a walk or something. Anything is better than nothing. I personally am really into bodyweight exercises because I hate going to the gym and don't have the money/space for much equipment at home.

Took a while, but now I actually look forward to exercising.

I like to exercise more than I do eat well. I like to think I can eat crap because I like tasty things that aren’t good for you and then work it off, but perhaps that isn’t the case.

I think it's sort of the same difference. If you eat a very well balanced diet, in normal proportions, you really dont need to exercise outside of as mentioned maybe some minor cardiovascular stuff for "blood flowing adrenaline" purposes. In your case it's probably not as good but if you can exercise enough to quickly burn the garbage foods off, well, if it works it works.

    Pretty self evident stuff.

Food like any other drug has a tolerance effect, and the more you eat consistently, the more you need to eat to feel satisfied.

Start eating 1000 calories a day, you will go into withdrawal, but pretty soon you can eat that much AS LONG AS YOU GET ENOUGH PROTEIN, and your body will be more sensitive to food, and you won't be that hungry as long as you get what you need out of your food.

I as well don't eat very many carbs either, save for donuts sometimes.

Yeah this isn't the case. You need both. Way, way easier to consume calories than it is to work it off. And that's not really the aim of it anyway. You don't want to just level shit out. You wanna be healthy. Don't create cheat codes for yourself. I mean enjoy good, horribly unhealthy food from time to time. But not all the time, and not everyday.

And also if you drink a lot, stop doing that. Drinking adds so many calories. I try to keep to two shots of whiskey or two beers when I'm drinking. Any more and self control goes out the window and I eat and drink everything in sight. GABA hunger is real
