If ya had a child or children you would know the sickened feeling deep down in your gut, at the thought of someone sexually assaulting your child. Thank God it never happened to my son, but I started discussing what is “not ok” with him at a very early age. He’s told me he was never approached in such a manner. Thank God, I don’t want to go to jail for murder.
If my child came to me and said he had pedophilic tendencies, you can bank I’d get him continued psychiatric help. Accepting this as normal, is not normal.

That's exactly my same position.
I do not accept pedophilia as "normal". I see it as an affliction that requires (humane!) treatment.
I'd be devastated to find out a child of mine were sexually abused, but I'd be equally taken aback if I discovered my own child had those same tendencies.
I would want them to get help, and I would fight as much as I could to ensure they get that help and don't end up becoming outcast from society and vilified as monsters.
It could literally happen to anyone. People don't just get bit by the pedophile bug and turn out that way.
So that's why I endorse a compassionate approach towards treatment.
The fewer traumatized people out there, the better. That's the bottom line. -

I think my relationships with my parents and step parents are probably why I'm a 34 year old bachelor with no prospects in sight and MAJOR commitment issues.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
