schizophrenics have deficits in prepulse inhibition which is a prevention of response to weak stimuli that precludes stronger stimuli, in single celled organisms, if their feedback loops get out of whack this creates a system of disorder in which incorrect alternate realities are proposed as possible solutions. tl;dr psychosis is alternate reality achieved by faulty analysis of signals, and a faulty analysis of signals could lead to a system of disorder, which would propose an incorrect alternate reality, which creates consciousness, because conscious experience is just trying to establish the different signals. and if these signals get fycked the system creates disorder which doesnt not get applied to reality but instead only exists in thoughts which are hypothetical interactions for future scenarios
