2019-01-28 at 8:09 PM UTCAmericans are not going to stand for armed guards on towers shooting and killing men, women and children just for trying to enter our country in an attempt to better their lives. The Berlin wall was to keep people in, not keep them from entering, although nobody sane would want to enter anyway.
Duh. -

2019-01-28 at 9 PM UTCThe whole point of walls is that since it's impossible to effectively Man entire borders, you use it to create an obstacle to funnel potential encroachers into a port of entry.

If it isn't 100% perfect then it isn't worth building.
Also I won't be wearing a seatbelt ever again. -
2019-01-28 at 9:21 PM UTCYes, they'll still come by boat. Probably why I included the coast guard in the expansion. There are better more productive ways to direct funds to combat immigration problems. I understand some of you would never admit that.

I guess you don't understand how a barrier works...of course there were armed guards...regardless without the wall MANY MANY MANY East Germans would have still crossed. -

Yeah, you're a lying scumbag piece of shit that won't even tell the truth - even as you understand it - to complete strangers on an anonymous online forum.
I worked illegally in the US on three separate occasions, in 2009, 2001, and 2003.
Each time was for scummy Irish family members - my dad or my uncle. Each time was on a tourist visa, at no time was I pressed for SSN, though in 2003 I was passed a fake one to use.
The Irish I knew over there drove drunk all the time. They were only saved by the fact that at the time the NYPD were Irish as fuck.
Each time I just worked while on a 3 month visa. I didn't overstay any visa, but neither was I given an exit stamp, though they were supposed to be provided. I took from this that I was basically allowed to overstay and no one would care.
If you wanted to stay on a tourist visa all you had to do was visit Canada. If you wanted to overstay, all you had to do was overstay.
If you wanted to become legal (citizenship, as my Dad is a Naturalised American - btw congratulations Yanks!) it would have cost $24k, and, besides handing over the money, the process was effort free. -

I just love how he pops out like the Swamp Thing with "POLIESANGRAUN" and the dude isn't even startled, because this is literally the least surprising part of his night. -

this is the most dangerous misconception you poor liberals and 'radical extremists' like orcasio cortez could have.
rich people always have the means to avoid paying taxes, be they coporate taxes, capital gains, wealth etc etc.
raising taxes without first plugging these loopholes will only serve to encourage these people to perform creative accounting that routes their actual wealth abroad. just look at google and ireland. -

First of all, there is no such thing as a tax loophole. Second, corporations do not pay taxes. Yes, they send a check to the IRS but it is passed on to their customers.
Shut up! -
