   I print out papers sometimes. I have a comfy chair and reading light set up and will sometimes make a cup of tea or something. It's nice to be away from my desk for a bit and it's easier to get to sleep if you're reading paper rather than a screen late at night

   I sometimes print out academic papers too, mainly because I have this complex color coding highlighter system.
   
   I use different colored highlighters to denote different degrees of importance of certain passages, or to otherwise guide how to interpret the paper upon subsequent readings. Then I also jot a few things down in the margins.
   
   I'm trying to entirely transition this system to a computer-based workflow to reduce paper clutter and for easy storage of, and categorization, of notes.
   
   But, then, sometimes I like to go to a coffee shop or a bar/pub or something like that just to switch things up. If I'm trying to wrap my head around a chunk of code in a language I'm not super well-versed in, for example, I might actually just print out some source code and just go over it with a highlighter and ballpoint pen to make sense of it while I'm having lunch, coffee, or a beer somewhere.

   ONTOPIC: I don't know do you care about the work you would be potentially printing? Do you enjoy reading things physically? If the answers to those questions are yes then you should do what makes you happy. And print until you can print no more.

    Probably. But it's cheaper and more fun to drill a bunch of holes right at the spine area and weave a thread through it. You can then fashion some type of hard cover and glue that on the spine if you feel like it.

    I cannot for the life of me read anything of length on a screen. I have to take multiple breaks. On paper I can read for hours.
    
    Buying second hand books is the shit. All these discarded library books.
