I know some of you niggers take this shit. If you currently take one if them, tell me why. Do you take because your dr tells you to, or becquse it actually helps you?

I have taken a variety over the years, but recently gave them the good ol' college try and sustained a high dose of fluoxetine (Prozac) for almost two full years.
I only recently started tapering, though, because any improvements were kinda subtly and lacking, whereas the negative side effects were a lot more impactful.
I just did a cost-benefit analysis and decided to taper.
(BTW: ALWAYS taper with SSRI's... You get some really weird and scary symptoms if you don't.)

Oh, and the reason I was prescribed them was, incidentally, not for depression, but for OCD.
It's supposed to be somewhat effective in some cases for OCD when taken in higher doses.

Have had brain zaps. FUCK SSRIs. I mean if it works for someone then great, that's fucking awesome. But every single type of anti-depressant I've ever been prescribed has made me feel like shit and given me all sorts of weird symptoms.
One of the strangest was I think with either zoloft or amitriptyline, where all soda felt completely flat on my tongue. I don't know how that can even be a side effect but it was.

STAY AWAY from mirtazapine. Had it in rehab for sleep for a few days, and it made me dead tired the entire time, but ironically did next to nothing for helping me sleep. Same with trazodone.
The absolute worst meds for inducing all day fatigue as a side effect are antipsychotics.
I've also been prescribed mirtrazapine the past few months (in conjunction with the prozac), and I noticed some fatigue during the day.
But, after having been prescribed seroquel (which is even more fatigue-inducing / energy draining), and even olanzapine (FUCKING NEVER AGAIN!!!!1 - that shit made me sleep for 16 hours, and then barely be able to muster the energy to stand up to go the bathroom, let alone DO ANYTHING WHATSOEVER productive).
I DO NOT envy schizophrenics who have to take that stuff DURING THE DAY.

i take 50mg seroquel at night and am 2/3 of the way floored within an hour. I can't imagine taking 200-1300mg during the daytime like they do.

I took seroquel for 3 days and it made me so tired I felt worse than when I was just standard depressed. Maybe it's supposed to go away after a while? I guess I won't know since I stopped.
Prozac is the only medication I've taken that worked, as far as I could tell. Only negative side effect for me was the lack of boner ability which was easily remedied with viagra (which is actually a lot of fun).

Yeah I got a few zaps on lamotrigine. Didn't mind em really. Little head rush basically. Maybe they weren't zaps at all.
I take lamotrigene but I dunno if I really feel it or not. Thought I did at the beginning, but I think it's probably helpful for stabilizing my mood. Oh yeah, that's why I take it, I forgot.
Would like to try lithium tbh, but then I wouldn't be able to take ibuprofen and it might interact with ither stuff too so idk. Also it goes hard on organs so maybr not.
