    speaking of which I remember there was a guy in my high school who was Serbian, and I gave him a lot of shit about it because this was a few years after the Yugoslavia breakup and I didn't really know any more about it than what I heard on the news waiting for Captain Planet to come on. I feel kind of bad thinking back on it, but not too bad because he was much bigger and bullied me from time to time.

    How do some barely-literate goatherds and low-level soldiers without the internet know enough about geopolitics to understand who's pulling the strings behind the scenes? They're concerned with the here and now; there are invaders in their streets, in their front yards, and you think they're able to ignore that and go after the financiers?

    I dunno, I don't understand Arabic so for the most part, all I heard from him was what the mass media allowed me to hear from him. I honestly think you'd have to dig deeper into his addresses to his own country to understand his motivations, and that's a lot of work.
