Sounds a lot like me. I don't have all these expectations in relationships, I just tend to let the chips fall where they may. Whether that's my undoing I don't know. When I'm doing well, work,gym, abstinant from drug & alcohol abuse etc I tend to fuck more and become a total whore, but for me it's just empty sex. My neighbor has a regular bang and I suffer the indignity of having to hear them upstairs whilst I'm pulling the head off it thinking "I need to get back like that".
An ex who left me when I was at the height of Cocaine/ alcohol abuse got intouch and it was nice to feel those old feelings again, albeit I think she just wanted to fuck. I could see she had changed a lot, no longer shy, was outspoken. That obsessiveness she once had with me was gone. It was just sex I had to keep reminding myself that.
I chuckled at the thought of how I let my guard down somewhat but we both never said anything was going to come from it. It was nice to remember those old feels again, even if it wasn't reciprocated as much. I'm 28 now and seriously need to get back into work, finishing my apartment and just find someone who I don't feel like wrapping an 9 iron around their head. Girls just want to rush into things and "make it facebook official". Pffft die! A lot of girls I refuse to get with say I'm "a commitment phobe". For some this is true, but mainly cause I want to sort my life out first before settling down. As for the others, it's cause I don't see myself having beautiful kids or anything meaningful with them.
This year there will be changes, all in due course. -

If you use firefox or chrome, I wrote a small script that blocks posts from ALL new posters (of course, this is not a perfect solution... it initially blocked your posts, so I had to disable it until I add more refined functionality for unblocking legitimate new users).

I totally get that line of thought.
I currently don't put any real effort into finding someone to get involved with for pretty much the exact same reason. I have career goals, financial goals, and various self-improvement type goals that I really want to get in order before I start seeking a relationship.
One potential issue, though, at least for me, is setting the bar too high, and thus relegating yourself to bachelorhood indefinitely.
I'm 34 now, and, aside from a few brief romantic trysts here and there over the years as a result of spontaneous encounters, I have been single since 2005... That's like 15 years pretty much. It's definitely a tad depressing.
I think I, personally, need to work on lowering the bar a bit (but not foregoing all my goals altogether - just modifying them a bit).The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
