Anyway the issue isn't getting totse files and throwing them up on AWS, that's easy, it's structuring them and fixing them up so that they are presentable. I don't know what the files you have look like, but the ones on totse were all line breaks and strange characters.
Generally you'd use a CMS, could be something like Wordpress, more like Typo3 for such a large number of files. Those are both PHP, which is outdated. Something in node like Ghost or something built on Keystone JS (both would be awkward), or even a Python app like Django CMS.
You just don't want to be going and trying to arrange so many files by hand.
Oh and textfiles.com is still a thing. -

I was just going to build my own (rather simple) CMS myself in Flask. I prefer Flask over Django because it has less boilerplate code and all that. You can create a very simple, bare bones web server in like 5 lines of code. And what I love about that is that, once you've mastered Flask (and I think I can claim that I have, since I use it for like 100 different hobby projects), it's so smooth and easy to maneuver when you want to create something with minimal dependencies.
And my plan for dealing with presenting the content is actually kind of a reverse-engineering ==> re-engineering procedure.
I use Beautiful Soup (an XML/HTML web parser library for Python) to extract the content from each article (author, date submitted, title, article content, description, etc).
Next, I essentially recreate the exact same HTML and CSS in my custom CMS.
Finally, I just have to host the data that's unique to each article, which means that my initial estimate of ~3GB is WAY, WAY higher than what I actually need.
