Limit how many threads a newbie makes

This forum is actually intended to be a topical forum, even though half of it inevitably becomes SG bullshiting, and some people (Bill Krozby) have abused SG by putting every thread they make an SG thread. This understandably gets on Lanny's nerves, as well as mine a little bit.
Also, we do have quite a few users who pretty much only post in the topical forums and ignore SG and HB altogether. That's pretty much what I've been doing as of late, but I have my moments when I want to cumune in the holy sacraments with my peers.
Restricting people from posting quality topical threads would make this site worse. A lot. Even restricting SG would be a terrible idea.

100 posts before you can make 2 in one day
And no one should be allowed to make more than 3 in one day … it’s stupid. Personally I think more than 2 a day is excessive for anyone
I feel like that's just going to encourage people to make a bunch of dumb spammy posts in order to make a thread. Is new posters making too many threads really an issue? There are already controls on how many posts new posters can make in a 24 hour period.Oh and the topics really need to be revamped

I can see your point in regards to more spammy posts, I didn’t know there was a limit on posts ...
The way the outline or descriptions of each forum is currently written, eliminates a lot of “Main Stream” topics that could possibly fit into the existing forums if they were re-written to include a more generalized guideline.

I don’t know if you were actually a member of DH, but when I joined there were 1000’s of posters and actually not too many forums, but enough.
I’m not sure what you mean by gossip threads .. can you explain or give an example?
The mods banned lots of posters on DH lol .. many were IP Banned
I would lurk other forums on DH, and promptly leave, never posting in all but 1 - the 40’s forum. DH had a 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and 60+ forums amoung several others.
Each poster was responsible for monitoring their own thread. We had block buttons which were nice, because we had the choice to shut off the noise from posters we didn’t particularly care for including trolls and PI scum.
Limiting threads in my opinion would improve the quality of threads created .. again, just my opinion. Thanks for not bashing me over the head for having one or making up reasons or motives for why I took the time to post it 👍 -
