Has the world got better or worse since then?
  2. #2
    The world or human civilization?

The world is pretty much the same as it was..maybe a tiny bit warmer and dirtier.

The world isote populated and has some major problems in many areas.

Civilization-wise?. Worse doesn't even encompass the slide into hell.

It was just as bad back then, just in different ways. Not many people had televisions or phones, and most people were very poor.

1969 ..my parents had a house with no hot water, no TV and the toilet was an outhouse at the end of the garden. As a young fella-me-lad up to the age of 7 shitting in that outhouse gave me a lifelong fear of spiders.

Yes, he definitely could? He came home to family who loved him, he quickly arranged his civilian life, got a job right away, made friendship , and with another new military vet, found a place to live and resumed his life ad a very productive American citizen.

He should have had all that shit sorted BEFORE he left really...it's the adult thing to do.
