   Best way is to play on all sides until you are forced to make a decision and then choose the institute. Sure the institute made some unethical decisions in the past, but now you're the leader. You can't lead the railroad and you can't lead the brotherhood of steel. The railroad might be helping sentient beings and all, but you could also help them (and keep creating more of them, and ensure the future of humanity) by choosing the institute.

   You do murder the individual who murdered your spouse. All other individuals involved in that died over the next 60 years you spent on ice. The Nazis are the BOS, the institute is just a group of scientists. As their new leader, you choose the direction the group takes.
   
   As a railroad lackey you blow up the institute while freeing a limited number of synths, dooming both the synths and humanity with the same strike, as well as abandoning your child which you just spent the entire game trying to save.

   BoS were pretty nazi-esque but even if you kill the guy who was directly responsible for your tragic macguffin that doesn't change the institute as a body was responsible for it, that the current occupants are the beneficiaries of that, to say nothing of the fact that the institute condones human chauvinism and exploitation of synths. Even if you can make evil people be good by being their leader, that doesn't make them not evil.
   
   As for abandoning your kid, he ended up being a murdering dick. Probably not entirely his fault since he was kidnapped and raised by other murdering dicks, but the fact that I spend a game chasing his dumb wrinkly old ass doesn't excuse what he did and does.

    Turok - Dinosaur Hunter. It's amazing how they can get so many levels and such amazing gameplay and graphics into just a 25mb zip file. Loads of cool secrets built in, too. Whoever designed this game is top notch.
