1) A wall is a cheap partial solution. If a wall reduces illegal immigration by 20%, it'll have paid for itself in one years time.
2) when America strongly encouraged immigration, it was LEGAL immigration during industrialization, fed through one of our ports of entry.
3) when all those people came, there was no social safety net. You lived it does by your own wits. There was no welfare. Each year we spend between 80 and 115 billion dollars in welfare for illegal immigrants. Sympathy is cool, but not everyone in the world has the RIGHT to a life here...no more than I have a right to go to the UK and get free housing, food, medical care, education, etc. We can't feed and clothe and house the whole world. Most are economic migrants. And that's not mentioning the big one, which is....
4) Mexico is the corrupt shithole it is, purely because the exchange of guns and drugs is so incredibly easy. Most comes via trucks and shit, but plenty is brought in foot as well. -

thats what wrong with you, your preconceived notion that every immigrants who come to the US wanted to be given free housing and free this and free that.
not really.
some are just looking for a better opportunity to make something for themselves. -

2019-01-26 at 6:53 AM UTCI thought Trump was going in and drain the swamp. I was down for this. But the Wall is a bit much. the bad guys will tunnel underneath and the good people of Mexico (Many with skillsets in best interest for patients who are sick or other needs) will be kept out.
the Caravan, I don't like that. that's way to many people coming in all at once. but people who are Mexican or other nationalities who were forced back but have no history of crime and steady work, I mean WTF??
also, Is Trump going to investigate Larry Silverstein and his unbelievable ability to get specific insurance (Which is almost a put option) on his 2 newly purchase buildings WTC1 and WTC2 (While he already owned WTC3 Marriott and the new Marriott owned Ritz Carlton)
is he going to investigate them? no. so he's corrupted as well.
but hey, I did what I thought was right and tried to point this out. -

Again- no one has a right to go wherever they want. -

Legalizing the drugs that should never have been prohibited in the first place would pretty much solve both those problems.
Its impossible to build a wall over the mountainous areas anyway, so what's the point of two big walls with a big huge wide open gap between the two of them?

Why did your family move to America and not Mexico?
America was literally founded for "free white men of good character".
The idea that America is anything else is a jedi fairytale from the late 19th Century.
On Ellis Island they literally rejected cripples, syphilitics, the infirm and other undesirables. Back to Europe!
That didn't stop the jedi Emma Lazarus from inscribing her "give me your tired, your hungry,..." poem on the statue of Liberty once the jedis had sufficiently taken over New York.
Chutzpah. -

Much smaller intensive patrol area than the entire border. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to build a wall over rough terrain anyway, you're just limited as to what type.
The US (along with most countries) drug policy is absurd and self-defeating, saying the wall will help in that regard is just to drum up support.
Guns, as I understand it, mostly go to Mexico through straw purchases via legal points of entry so a wall would make no direct difference there. Illegal guns get smuggled back, but I believe those numbers are absolutely dwarfed by the number stolen, manufactured or otherwise obtained domestically. -

To what?
America has a net outflow of Mexican immigrants and the vast majority of illegals that exist in America are here on overstayed visas, i.e. they legally came here through the border, then stayed. The wall isn't going to do jack shit.
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/12/03/what-we-know-about-illegal-immigration-from-mexico/If a wall reduces illegal immigration by 20%, it'll have paid for itself in one years time.
How will the wall magically generate money?
You understand that illegals pay sales taxes, gas taxes (if they have a car), property taxes that are built into whatever their living situation is, and aren't able to claim deductions, right? They'll also use expired SSNs or ITpID to sign up for jobs and generate payroll taxes, but (obviously) they can't claim those social security benefits.
The wall will also need to be maintained and staffed. It will be a constant drain on our economy while harming it and solving zero problems, purely because you are upset by brownies.2) when America strongly encouraged immigration, it was LEGAL immigration during industrialization, fed through one of our ports of entry.
Completely irrelevant.3) when all those people came, there was no social safety net. You lived it does by your own wits. There was no welfare. Each year we spend between 80 and 115 billion dollars in welfare for illegal immigrants.
Lol do you think there are vast majorities of illegal Mexicans walking around with Social Security benefits and SNAP cards?
Illegal immigrants are net positive contributors to our tax base. They also have less than 1% rate of welfare use. So no, their welfare burden is literally almost totally negligible.
https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/10/10/2018-21106/inadmissibility-on-public-charge-groundsSympathy is cool, but not everyone in the world has the RIGHT to a life here…no more than I have a right to go to the UK and get free housing, food, medical care, education, etc. We can't feed and clothe and house the whole world. Who gives a fuck about sympathy or rights? Immigrants (including illegals) are a major net positive to the economy, this is not a debated fact in economics. The create economic growth and increase our tax base, regardless of the fact that you are unaware of it.
On top of that, the fence isn't going to do jack dick to stop anything and it's just going to be a drain on resources.4) Mexico is the corrupt shithole it is, purely because the exchange of guns and drugs is so incredibly easy. Most comes via trucks and shit, but plenty is brought in foot as well.
A vast majority of it is brought over on trucks and shit, through the border checkpoints. Again, the fence would be a completely retarded response to this problem.
And... It sounds like they are just supplying demand in the US. That's really what the problem is. -
