   That said, the only reference to Mol being diagnosed in 1999 that I could easily find was an uncited reference to a Rzeczpospolita article on the wikipedia page dedicated to him. I did a little googling, but I don't read Polish and google translate isn't exactly perfect. I couldn't find anything. So maybe he didn't know. Maybe it was politically motivated. *shrug*
