Just the tip or not even? What do you guys think about tipping?

I'm very much staunchly against it though. I don't feel like most waitresses earn that shit, yet you're expected to pay for their wage? I can go to a fast food place and they work just as hard but don't get tips. Food is cheaper too, and I'm not just talking about chain locations. If I go to a diner without waitresses, I'll pay about the same for food, but I don't have to pay extra just to have somebody write down what I want and carry it over to me. And 15% of all things.
Instead we should raise the minimum wage to compete with inflation. Because there's a lot of people who get fucked over by the whole tip system (cooks, non-shared tips, etc). Plus it encourages people to lie on their taxes, since they're getting paid in cash.
I've been a waiter before and it was a really fucking easy job. Be nice, remember what people got, carry food, clean when slow. You even get a fucking notepad so you don't have to remember shit. It's by far one of the easier jobs I've had. Yeah, it can get busy and rushy, but if you're not a retard that shouldn't be a problem for you. And it's not like waitress is the only job that has to deal with that.
People say that tips = better service, but I STRONGLY disagree. I think mostly it's the unfriendly attitude of Europeans. Like, do you really think a German waitress is gonna smile at you and ask all perky if you want another beer? Fuck no. And anyway why do you want your waitress to be nice to you. Are you lonely? I thought you went out to eat for the food. Go find a KTV place or a strip club if you want attention. -

If this were to change, then tipping procedures would change.
But as things stand, tipping is just kinda customary.
I actually tend to overly tip, if anything. I guess part of it is that I like to feel like a big shot. I mean, I pretty much guarantee that the local neighbourhood servers all know me and say "hi" everytime I walk in. Maybe that's a stupid reason to tip well, but it's one among many reasons I tip well.
Another reason is that any kind of kitchen job can be stressful, whether in the front or the back. I did some behind the scenes kitchen work briefly (dishwasher, etc), and it was brutal (especially considering the hourly pay rate), but I can't imagine serving customers being all that much easier. -
2019-01-20 at 10:15 PM UTCOP is sooooo boring, this thread has been made a few times in the last 3 months, personally I don't mind tipping because I work for tips also but at the same time if you're too much of a fuccboi to where you feel like such a cheepskape that you can't even shell out a few few bucks for some guy making 4 bucks an hour you probably shouldn't be going out to eat otherwise the price of food in murica would just rise to pay the workers more, a lot of companies do that.
It was kind of funny, back in the summer I went out to lunch with vaporwave and the pussy when i got up to go to the bathroom after paying the check and tipping the guy was literally waiting at the door out of his head because he didn't want to look like he was cheap.
whytes, niggas, jedis, spics, they all do this when they can't respect a service, this is why some people don't like them.
I work in the industry , but I've quit to go to other places because I don't like dealing with poor people -

If you are average looking, maybe you will get a job at Olive Garden. Prices are decent, tips are decent. It's all around decent.
If you are good looking, you can get a job at a fancy restaurant and make some serious money in tips.
All of them require the exact same skillset, but you get more tips if you're a girl with big tits. Guys and ugly women or women with small tits get paid less for doing the exact same job. Shared tips can mitigate this but then that's unfair to the big titted girls who are making more.
I really don't think anybody should be making less than minimum wage unless they're getting commission or something. -

Hey, I never doubted that.
And even if you did tip less than 15%, you'd fall within the wide majority.
I know neither of my parents, nor any of my friends (for the most part), tip anywhere north of ~10%.
But yeah, this question takes on a whole theoretical dimension that just can't be satisfactorily answered as is (considering the current state of things). -
