Just watch his videos and you'll see just how insecure he really is. He'll be writing some code and then he'll stop and start talking to himself, going "wait", then "OK", but then he'll doubt himself again and double-check something, and it ends up he did fuck up, so he changes one small thing, then he starts mumbling to himself again and goes ahead, but then as soon as he's onto the next thing he has some epiphany and goes back and deletes the whole thing and rewrites the code, the whole while doubting himself while looking like a Poker player with a bad hand pushing his entire fortune into the pot. He's a child in a adult body.

The alcohol is only the bandaids that cover the wounds beneath. The booze helps to remove the inhibitions and anxiety and the indecision. Without the booze, if he was just his "normal" self, he would be a train wreck. The kid needs to be institutionalized and treated to emergency psychiatric treatment.
