   Earth's Moon is not travelling a perfect circular orbit. it's more elliptical
   
   this is why you have super moons.
   
   Other things besides the Total Eclipse (which isn't that an eclipse occurs but that you have the Diamond Ring Effect)
   
   Women's period cycles run on 28 cycles as the length of full moon cycles are.
   
   It affects our tides.
   
   It is 1/6th the size of Earth (not 1/4th)
   
   it has 1/3rd the gravity but is believed to be hollow because it rings like a bell when objects hit it. (Scientist have place sensitive equipment to listen to sounds that human ears can't hear without an atmosphere to bounce off of)
   
   it is multi colored soil. some blue, green and red soils have been spotted on the far side of the Moon while the sun was shining off that side during the Apollo 13th mission's fly by.
   
   There is no "Dark Side" of the moon.. all sides of the moon are hit by sunlight even though the same side of the Moon is facing the earth at all times. it rotates around the earth with out it spinning on an axis but the sun hits all sides of it as it's moving around the Earth. which is why we see moon phases.
