All my moral beliefs are ultimately informed by what I want, and there are some things I want that I am not willing to not want, like myself being alive. You can make truth claims about my morals based on how the logical implications of those wants change as you compound them together.
If he gave you a formal deductive logical proof that the logical consequence of one of your desires, such as being alive, meant that you shouldn't eat meat, would you count that as a moral obligation to eat meat?
If not, what do you mean by "moral obligation"?
