2019-01-08 at 11:09 AM UTCThese aren't pretty people, just skinny ones.
OTOH I guess just having a BMI below 35 makes you an automatic 10/10 in America. -
2019-01-08 at 11:23 AM UTCSoy instead of bitching, why not just post your preferences ... I enjoy seeing individuals perception of human “beauty”

Just because they're all below a certain BMI does not mean that's the only criterion.
How in the world are Charlize Theron, Veronica Lake, and Audrey Hepburn not exceptionally attractive?
Like, beauty is subjective to some extent, but there are certain objective standards of beauty that pretty much everyone can agree on (barring any fetishes, kinks, or other aberrant/abnormal sexual proclivities). -

Okay, these two make sense. That's in the spirit of the thread.
The rest, you're just talking about either symbols of beauty (such as old couples holding hands), or just people of exemplary/admirable character (such as the Dalai Lama, Thomas Edison, etc). -
2019-01-08 at 11:49 AM UTCIf they were a complete stranger that you never heard of, and they approached you at a bar, would you sleep with them even if they were boring, or even down-right obnoxious/abrasive?
If yes, they are physically beautiful, and thus worthy of posting here.
If not, they might just be people you admire. That's fine, but that's for a different thread.
The people I find physically beautiful, and the people I admire, are almost entirely mutually exclusive. -

Wow.
I Thank'd this post because it offers a unique perspective that I had never actually considered.
Most people consider him a "hero" and a "freedom fighter" for standing up against China's oppression.
But you could say the exact same thing about Osama Bin Laden and America/Israel and their allies.
Although this video of the Dalai Lama actually training gun-toting terrorists does seem a bit far-fetched to me. It would be pretty compelling evidence if it exists. -
2019-01-08 at 12:09 PM UTCI knew nothing of him when I met him. His incredibly serene, kind, and child like presence I felt changed my life.
He was just a well known older religious leader ... that’s it ...
I did everything “wrong” I guess, when I met him. Shook his hand, gave him a hug, conversed with him making eye contact. There was nothing but warmth in these exchanges for more than 30 minutes in my office.
I didn’t learn, until later (about a year after) that those things were considered disrespectful .... -

Ditto. Buddhist monks don't work.
Before China invaded Tibet was a literal slave state, the entire country tied up in knots of multigenerational bondage, children working their asses off for the debts of their grandparents, similar crap to Nepal more recently. Buddhist fatalism and acceptance of life discouraged any concept of progress.
The Buddhists ruled over that like old-timey European Aristocrats, except even more useless, lazy, reactionary and entitled.
When the Chinese invaded to liberate the people the Llamas didn't even do anything as they were off on holiday and didn't want to be disturbed.
