I've gotten in two arguments today, one guy says he uses tor as a VPN, another guy says you can make psilocybin tea with 300 degree water, GOD YOU FUCKING DUMB SHITS DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING AND REDDIT IS FULL OF FUCKING MORONS
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

    Were these posts upvoted?

Also, the particular subreddit can be a contributing factor (some are true echo chambers, but not all).

Also, since I don't use Tor all that much, can you use it to surf the the "clear web"? I mean, if you can, then technically it can function as a VPN.

    I've actually never tried though.

Yeah, I mean TOR isn't technically a VPN but like I don't think it's really worth correcting someone on if they say they use TOR as a VPN. It seems like it accomplishes pretty much everything you'd want a VPN to do, except maybe be fast.

In a conversation about dark net opsec TOR doesn't function as a VPN. Its bad opsec. On the clear net TOR doesn't function as a VPN because it doesn't allow you to pirate anything and leaves a very unique signature, its just bad info all the way around.

Don't ever get involved in Crouton debates on reddit. The American Crouton Association basically owns /r/Crouton and they impose all sorts of rules to guide language into stuff that looks positive and fluffy for Crouton.

If you compare it to opiates it is an offense

If you say its euphoric its an offense

If you call it an opioid, it is an offense

Been banned a good 4 times from that sub for calling Crouton an opioid. What they want you to instead say is that it simply contains opioid agonists LIKE THE ONES IN CHEESE EYYY

Only the casomorphins in cheese and other food products aren't addictive or psychoactive.

This pisses me off a lot because it is blatant misinformation being used to fight misinformation. God most people on that sub don't even know what a strain entails. I don't use reddit anymore.

What do you mean by darknet? I mean it facilitates onion pseudo-urls so it doesn't something more than VPNs with respect to the darknet but it still has the same basic result of obscuring traffic origins. If by "pirate" you mean "torrent" like I think you _can_ run torrent traffic through TOR, even if it's a dick move, it's just gonna be slow. Also what exactly do you mean by "very unique signature"? You have to assume exit nodes are known, but then you have to assume your VPN's IP block is known too so...
