Can Someone Please Tell Me How this Works?

Does anyone know how it is prescribed?
Do you get a medical marijuana card, and you can get all you want? Or is it written by weight, strength, etc., etc?
I wonder if it is written monthly, biannual, or once you have the card you’re all set?
My sister in law is getting a card, but just found out she can’t own her gun or a concealed carry. Any other ways it’ll effect her?
Very curious how this works. Any info would be appreciated! -

I would assume the laws and rules will vary by state?
I know quite a bit about CA laws, but like everything else, it’s doubtful anything I might know has anything to do with Ohio. -

I wondered if someone out there knew how it works. I’ve been googling it, and I’ve found out the doc can’t just prescribe it, but the person has to be recommended for it, but I haven’t found anymore info yet.

I think they just give you a card or script that allows for whatever amounts. That is just a guess though -
2019-01-03 at 1:07 AM UTCIn Florida you have to go see an authorized physician and have your medical records transferred proving your need. Then once you get your card you can get pretty much whatever you want from a dispensary.
But if your sister-in-law is already at the point of getting her card she should have these answers... -

There is a max per day you can buy. However, you can possess up to 90 days of the max per day. I would assume you could grow your own, or your designated care given could. -

After that, you're supposed to lose other rights but you probably won't comply. Actually she goes tomorrow and has no clue. She’s all stressed over it. Her extreme stressors are why her doc recommended it to her. She never even brought it up, he did. She has severe PTSD, and crippling anxiety, and now she’s driving me crazy over it. Just because I get high, she thinks I know all this shit. I feel like saying just get it and get stoned AF. She’s stressing over something that is supposed to calm her stress. Oy vey!
