Is there really going to be an economic/societal collapse this year in america?
-
2016-06-04 at 7:40 PM UTCI read up on a lot of "conspiracy" theories and paranormal things, but one thing that actually really scares me, is a lot of people including obama say that things are about to radically change in america due to war with the middle east and russia, intensifying, including the police state here in the US stepping up its. It's something that's always bothered me ever since I was 10 years old when I would watch the news as a kid and they would talk about nukes in other countries.
what do you guys think about this, some people say the big shift will take place this year before obamas term is up. Things like emp's *my phone service and other people that use the same service nation wide have been having their cellphone service cut out for hours the last couple of weeks*
and fema camps (we all know what happened to the people during hurricane katrina)
fema has the ability to take control of entire states and the country with poorly defined disasters if they'd like.

2016-06-05 at 5:58 AM UTCYour conspiracy theories are the worst. I am a lover of consipircy theories myself but the shit you believe is the dumbest, most idiotic, easily disproven shit.
That being said, economic collapse is one of those things that can happen anywhere at any time. Sure there are signs that it will happen or is on track to happen but its entirely possible for a good economy to go straight to shit in a very short amount of time. Its much easier for a shitty economy to head that direction. So I guess I would say that its possible for an economic collapse to happen this year but I wouldnt count on it. Though its never a bad idea to have a hearty supply of food rations and other possible necessities should all our bank accounts drop to zero or some shit.
Now the possibility of FEMA stepping in during an economic disaster? I would say is negligable. My dad did a lot of feild work for FEMA during Katrina and from my understanding this is an organization that steps in when people are literally dying right now. Much like the mobilization of the national guard (though they come with FEMA) you dont call on it unless they are really needed to ensure order and survival of people in a certian area. What I would not imagine happening is for FEMA to respond to an economic collapse. Perhaps on a small level they may do some things such as hand out food and water in areas that have really just gone down the shit but a lot of their job is cleaning up after something (usually a natural disaster) happens. I say this because I couldnt imagine anyone but the Federal government in full stepping in. Sure its the Federal Emergency Managment Agency but like I said their idea of an emergency is buildings falling apart, people dying enmasse and areas that are physically unsafe. An economic collapse would not nessicarily cause any of those things which is why I think it would be a broader effort from the Federal government than a singular agency. -
2016-06-05 at 6:45 AM UTCEconomic colapse will happen mid feb of 2017. After a republican wins the election the fed will stop quantative easing and raise interest rates. Combine that with what Trump's foreign policy will be like and we will have a second great depression and WW # at the same time going on.
Shit's gonna get real in the next 8-10 months -

What about his foreign policy will have an effect on the domestic economy? Really I want to know. -

Better to get off the shitty drug that's fiat currency now, than keep on printing and risk hyper inflation Weimar republic style. Best thing the government can do to expedite teh recovery is absolutely fucking nothing while the market adjusts itself. The only reason this is a big deal is because of the huge incentive to borrow money from the fed at close to 0% interest rate in the first place, misallocating resources like it's nobodies business. -
2016-06-05 at 1:08 PM UTCSupport for NGDPLT within the current system, the ideal being competing currencies within a free banking system allowing both fractional reserve lending and fiat, ala George Selgin, is what the intellectual elite ancap master race move onto.
Ron Paul sponsored a series of congressional lectures and he was one of the three people he invited to give an excellent talk:

Tariffs on imports for one. I want you to think about all the things you use in your life, how many are made in the USA? USA manufacturing has been outsourced due to high labor costs due to unions, minimum wage, etc. Now image if foreign goods were taxed to a level where your only cheaper option were things made in the states. That 9.99 T shirt from bangledesh is now 29.99.
The point is with the cost of everything up and less buying power of the dollar things will be pretty shitty -

Trump won't win but you have the right idea about 2017. Things will just happen slower with Clinton.
World war 3 global apocalyptic nuclear collapse is coming. Get your water and seeds now before it's too late. -

I agree, Trump is a RINO. HIllary would just continue the Bongo legacy as well as add her own fucked up shit to the mix. I'd venture to say 2017 being the end of the US as it's been known is pretty much a sure thing. -
2016-06-05 at 4:59 PM UTCI don't think anything can stop the capitalist empires around the world. There just needs to be a good ol' global death fest to bring the population down a few billion and the strongest, smartest will have more land and resources.

2016-06-05 at 6:30 PM UTC0% chance of societal collapse. Like what on earth could possibly catalyse that? We're economically in a better position than the 2008 recession where unemployment reached a 30 year high and there wasn't even a hint of civil unrest. The most niggers could do during the great depression was some shanty towns and marches.
The whole "it's happening!" mindset is self indulgant masturbation by people who think they can make up for their inability to integrate into modern society by surfacing some deep hidden talent for surviving in a mad max scenario. Literally the same mindset of a bullied kid who fantasizes that he's a wizard or some shit, only the nerdy ass kid actually realizes it's a pathetic dream while doomsdayers solidify their idiocy in hilarious rituals like buying guns and survival supplies or listening to shillex jones. -
2016-06-05 at 6:38 PM UTCIt won't collapse there will just be a violent uprising and a massive change in our lifetimes.
Capitalism can only be chained for so long. People want drugs, hookers, 3D printers, guns.
Technology reliance will lead to this sudden violent change in global life.
The only thing that would destroy the globalist capitalist united nation Empire world is a chaotic nuclear war that wipes out some top #10 powerful countires

Why do you think alex jones is a shill? Just because he's a republican? I admit he seems off about somethings, but I think that thats his style to raise awareness to a certain crowd of non liberals. -

Jones, like anyone who does news media, makes money by attracting interest. The means of doing so are largely irrelevant, lies, truth, and batshit insanity all bring in the money at more or less the same rate as long as it's telling someone what they want to hear. That doesn't mean everyone with a fiscal incentive towards sensationalism goes that route, there are some media outlets that make efforts to resist that trend, in fact almost everyone has some line they don't cross because going too far down that rabbit hole turns you into a tabloid and that's bad business. Jones however shows no sign of such high minded restraint. I've yet to see the man express any sort of skepticism towards any claim made by another conspiracy theorist, he makes a show out of screaming like a child, when he find something that resonates with his audience he'll ceaselessly reiterate it until everyone is sick to death no matter how ludicrous it is. In short, beyond the inherently laughable nature of his content, he's a money grubbing parody of a bad journalist perpetuated by long tail economics and drama. -

Funny how leftist try and portray themselves as peaceful but once they are confronted with logic and evidence they explode into violent rages. I have mixed feelings about Alex Jones. Part of me thinks he's a master salesman that only does these kind of things to sell mass amounts of survival supplies on his radio program and pocket the profits. But then he will take a stand on an issue like gun control and I have nothing but praise for him. So though I am a bit of a skeptic about Mr. Jones I respect his courage in standing up for the bill of rights and the constitution. -

As if unemployment numbers are a reliable indicator of economic health, go ahead and check how they calculate unemployment numbers. Everyone who has a part time job is counted as employed. A better indicator of economic health are real wages which are still 1.2% below what they were at the beginning of 2009.The whole "it's happening!" mindset is self indulgant masturbation by people who think they can make up for their inability to integrate into modern society by surfacing some deep hidden talent for surviving in a mad max scenario.
