My whole point is just that I can compartmentalize between the unnatural, unethical, illegal and immoral act of having sex with children, and the person behind the act.

What's with you and the gummi worms? I have no interest in eating gummi worms, for breakfast or otherwise, so I'm actually having a hard time connecting with your analogy.
But I guess maybe if I compare it to my desire to get drunk in the morning, then I can appreciate the analogy better.
In fact, that's precisely why I have the empathy for them that I do (note: even though I feel like it goes without saying, I'm going to specify anyway just in case, empathy does not imply moral acceptance).
It sounds like, if you desire gummi worms in the same way that I desire alcohol, or so-called "kidfuckers" sexually desire children, then it sounds like we're pretty much on the same page.
We share a certain degree of understanding (not moral acceptance, of course, just an understanding of the underlying compulsion). -

I honestly don't know what you mean by that.
All issues of free will aside, having a compulsion to drink every morning, or to groom children for sex, or eat gummi worms for breakfast, all seem to be pretty much equivalent to me.
I don't drink every morning though, and presumably, you do not eat gummi worms every morning for breakfast, so, yes, I can see your point in passing moral judgment on someone who indulges in their compulsion to groom a child for sex. To be honest, I'm kind of skeptical that such allegations about him are even true. But EVEN IF THEY ARE, for whatever reason, I still feel like it's unnecessarily judgmental to call him all kinds of cruel names.
Actually, I don't even know anymore... That is kinda messed up if that's true about him.
