You make some valid points, but at the end of the day, I am an asset to the company I work for.

I am a mere cog in a machine. And that machine could become obsolete any day now.
But right now, I've got a good think going, and I choose to interpret it with all the positivity and optimism as I can.
And most importantly, I like what I do.
I'm lucky as fuck that I found that one thing that we all ultimately strive for - a career where you look forward to work when you wake up in the morning.
And it's that passion for what I do that gives me just the right amount of confidence that if, for whatever reason, I were fired tomorrow, I'd have the resilience to bounce back and find a replacement job. -

I have heard some horror stories about extreme SJW/PC culture taking over in a lot of software companies.
Like, I guess you'd technically call me a liberal, but like, a close-to-center, almost right-leaning leftist.
But I've read about and heard some horror stories about over-the-top PC culture just ruining the tech industry.
I do my job though without much use of the stick (in the carrot/stick dichotomy). Because I have major ambition at work, and I love what I'm working on right now.

I basically have a very small handful of "alts" that I rarely use (most of which I created for like a drunken afternoon or something), but this one is one that I wrote some automation for, and it REALLY backfired.
It was supposed to listen periodically for new posts here, and then automatically respond by saying "the above poster is a verified faggot", or whatever.
HOWEVER, because I was drunk when I was writing it, I totally didn't factor in the fact that it will DETECT ITS OWN NEW POSTS... Then you just get this recursive mess. -
