Chinese fried prawns (if veined properly) are the best thing ever. I could order a dozen of those fucking large things. they're called Giant Shrimp but they're not even related apparently.

    Prawns are not shrimps.

how do you know the prawns came from china ?

The ones here have great prices and things you can't get anywhere else locally, but an overall poor selection and it's always packed with only one cashier working so you wait in line for 30 minutes at minimum

Aldis are popping up all over Ohio. They all seemed so small to me, but they just put a huge one in where an old drugstore used to be. I’m gonna check ‘em out. They sent out a $5 coupon for their grand opening.

    So just curious.....
Do I have to pay a quarter for my cart?
And do I need to take my own bags?

Is there anything else different that a new shopper should know about?

    wasn't Hitler's fathers name Aldo?

You put a quarter in but get it back when you return the cart.
Yes take your own bags (or you can buy theirs)..I have resuable bags from the 99 cent store in my car at all times
cheaper prices than wallyworld, kroger etc and they often discount stuff too...steak for example..when it's a day off it's sellby dates they give 50% off. I've got a freezer full of steaks that I've bought at 1/2 price. They also get non-food stuff in they discount after 3 or 4 weeks to make room for new stuff.

Do you like the quality of the meat? I won’t buy meat at wallyworld, just Kroger.

Yes. Can't say I'm a big meat eater though...never really bought steak at wallyworld to be honest.

Our deep freeze could use a good restocking. I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Marks and Sparks do nice ready meals, when I was over in England in October I lived on their ready meal curries.

The best chance to pick up 1/2 price meat is through the week in the morning or towards the end of day...weekends you've no chance as as soon as the 50% labels go on everyone their picks them up.

There is an Aldi by where I work so I'll go at lunchtime and end up getting most of the 50% off meat from that one rather than the one by the house for the same reason...shop in the evening and it's already been snagged.

    Aldi = Albrecht Discount.

Albrecht is the family name. Supposed to be two brothers. One runs Aldi Nord, the other Aldi Sud. Or something like that.

People call jedis good with money, but that's bullshit, jedis are wastrels when it comes to spending, more driven by bigotry and nepotism than anything else. The Germans are where it's at when it comes to having sense with money.

    Or after they've been dumped.

They don't give away gone off food except where they legally have to (like in France), everything goes into the bins, which are usually locked.

Protip: red meat doesn't really go off.
