   I haven't lived in many places, but one of them was Ottawa, and there, the winters are TOO COLD and the summers are TOO HOT. Ottawa knows no moderation.
   
   But the grass is always greener. That's why those people would apparently welcome snow and cold.

   Fuck, yeah. In brutal winters it's literally -50F, and in brutal summers, it's +110F. People die during the extremes all the time.

   Yeah I have no desire to go back to Ottawa (at least for no longer than maybe a few days to visit some family and a few friends). But not mid-summer, nor mid-winter. Those are my conditions.

   I have a lot of sympathy for homeless people, but why would ANY voluntarily live somewhere like Ottawa (especially during the Winter). I'd probably rather live in the bushes around the Great Lakes or something like that. Although, even there it gets cold. Fuck it all, I'd hitchhike to Florida or something.

    Is shouldn't surprize you. San Francisco doesn't get freezing temps often. close to 32f but there was a freeze snap for several weeks some years back. I think 5-6 people died in San Francisco from freezing to death on the streets.
    
    if it can happen in San Francisco Bay Area near San Jose it can happen anywhere else in the Greater 48 and Alaska and Canada.

    Yeah but in England, dad, you were moderated by the Atlantic Ocean.. so I imagine it rarely, if ever got below 30? I love the forties and fifties... and really don't mind the thirties. (F) too much time in the twenties and teens around here,for my liking...

    It gets below 30f often in Northern England during the winter months...or did when I lived there..might be subtropical now because of the global warming thing.
