iphone sucks dick when it comes to music now, they always want me to sign up for their shitty music service and now i can't even play songs that are supposedly downloaded on my phone without wifi. at work i don't get wifi a lot of the time so i want something that i can just fucking play music on without having to see a bunch of fucking ed sheeran advertisements and prompted for a password 52 times.
i want something that i can organize the music by just having it in folders, and that i can just drag and drop it in there. also with bluetooth. i don't want to be sold some shitty chinese bullshit that they try to beef up by adding a step counter and sleep tracker and speaker and all that bullshit. i just want something that plays mp3's like they did 10 years ago before all this stupid bullshit came out. i also dont want to spend over 40 bucks on it. i know theres gotta be like a $20-30 one out there that does what i need it to but theres so much chinese bullshit and i just don't want to spend my time sifting through it all so does anyone have any recommendations?
thanks.

I use a Moto E that I got for $10, it has expandable storage and Bluetooth + headphone jack so it serves my purposes fine as a music player.

I want to buy an MP3 player just cos they used to be one of those things I used to love having with me, but I never use my old iPod.
Same for my Flip cam, my actual camera, my speakers, my memory sticks, my maps, my compass, my gps, my gameboy, my scientific calculator etc.
Phone does all that shit now, but it's just not as cool as having the actual device in your hand.

Another reason Android trumps apple.

I had to look up what a moto E is but it seems like they're significantly more expensive than $10, where did you buy yours?

It was a gift so I can't really complain. I like iphone til they pulled this bullshit. Using Itunes to upload music back in the day wasn't too bad but now it's just ridiculous. Actually a lot of companies make their products really fucking hard to use because they're trying way too hard to add fancy bullshit.
Like I was just buying weed and looking at the price list on weedmaps and they have all these options to sort by "my favorites" or like most recent added and a bunch of other shit but no way to sort by price. Who the fuck is going to go on weedmaps and keep track of what their favorite strains are so they can sort by it? Everyone knows that's not how you buy drugs, when you buy drugs you have like 50 bucks and you want to know what you can get for it. I don't understand how people have such bad ideas.

Yeah, getting an android with expandable storage seems to be the way to go these days. The state of "I want a device that can hold my music library" is pretty shitty. Apple makes nothing with sufficient storage, the former good MP3 player manufacturers have all either gone out of business or mutated their lines into some weird hybrid "everything but a phone" abomination presumably to compete with the ipod touch. Low end android phones are so shoddily constructed as to be barely worth using so the one product that actually works well for the job is a higher end android and you just have to accept you're paying hundreds of dollars for shit you didn't really ask for because no one will just build a well made MP3 player anymore.

Why do we even call them phones anymore? I know it started out as a phone but, the phone is just an app on a device. What should we call them?

"phone" needs access to cellular networks.

I find humming tunes to myself works great, it's cheap and equipment free...It doesn't have bluetooth capability though.
