What language should I learn?

You guys already know what I speak. Trying to find something that isnt Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, or French. Have already started with Hindi and French but I'm not really digging it and I don't want to go to France or hIndia anyway.

I've been thinking Russian might be a good one. Or German. They both have a lot of crossover with other languages, which is pretty cool.

Anybody here study Russian or German? German or any other Latin language is probably gonna be cake, which is desirable since I'm already studying other languages which I need to learn moon runes for.

I tried learning japanese but the difference in hanzi is waaaay too fucking confusing for my level of Chinese. Like, how are 狗 and 犬 both 'inu' in Japanese, and they're both 'gou' in Chinese. Both mean dog. Makes no fucking sense. I wonder how many foreigners have been able to speak both languages fluently.

    Anyway, Russian? German?

Why not go for Urdu? It's like Hindi but with Arabic script and lots of Middle Eastern loanwords. It's worth it for the poetry.

Do you actually speak multiple languages, or just think you do?

Maybe learn Swahili, it's your sort of shit.

Who told you that Russian has a lot of crossover? The betabet is the same in some languages, but the languages themselves are not. People say that Ukrainian is similar to Russian but I don't understand the hohols at all, just a couple words here and there. I don't understand Belarusian either.

Its not that there are a lot of crossover with other languages, its that people who speak other languages were forced to learn Russian.

exaples of the extent of similarities between Russian and Ukrainian:

pidrahui in Ukrainian is either count, or recount. in Russian, pidar is faggot and hui is dick.

in Russian cat (female) is koshka, and in Ukrainian its kishka. in Russian kishka means intestine.

how the fuck is this crossover?

I speak Spanish and English fluently as first languages and can hold a conversation in Chinese, which I've been studying a year and a half. Recently I went to Asia for like a month and had a blast meeting and talking to people with my Chinese.

I know basic words in a few other languages. I will probably forget them. I'm just testing the waters right now and trying to figure out where I want to travel to next. I don't intend on traveling to a country without studying their language. I feel like you miss out on a lot of the culture. Plus it's just useful as shit, and a cool superpower, and for me it's fun to learn. I'd like to learn many other languages and visit many other countries.

Are you even serious. There's a lot of crossover. That doesn't mean it's exactly the same, word for word. French, English, Spanish, and Italian all have A LOT of crossover. Korean and Chinese have a lot of crossover. Even Arabic and Hindi have crossover. It is an inevitability of being close to another country.

Ukrainian and Russian (and all the Slavic languages) have very similar grammar systems as well. Can't say the same for some of the other comparisons I've listed here. If I ever wanted to learn Polish or something (probably will at some point so I can talk to my polish friend) then learning Russian beforehand would make it significantly easier, even if all it helps with is pronunciation. I know I can pronounce Japanese words A LOT better than my anime nerd friends who never learned a Sinitic language formally. I could probably pick up Korean very easily.

I have zero desire to go to Pakistan right now to be honest. I wouldn't feel safe traveling there like I like to travel. Maybe if I was brown.

Well, if you mean grammar and pronunciation, then yeah. But then a LOT of languages have crossover. For example I have good pronunciation in spanish and Portuguese because I speak Russian. The grammar of these languages is also easier to understand thanks to Russian. But they're unrelated languages completely.

I am fluent in 3 languages btw.

    English, Russian, and....???

All these Slavic languages have the same root. I mean Ukrainian would probably be the better choice if I'm purely going off what will make learning other languages easier, but I'm not. I'm talking about Russian and only Russian, and it has a lot of crossover with other Slavic languages. Google says Ukrainian is about 40% different from Russian.

Get out of here with these Russian to romance language comparisons. You're being overly defensive of your language for a silly point. If I call Russian unique, will you unbunch your panties?
