The newspaper contacted social workers, the police and experts on the subject. The newspaper writes that the young pimps are mostly Moroccans, Turks, Antilleans or Romanians. Quickly earning money and power are their main goals.

Floor ‘t Sas, a psychologist who works with the victims, notes that social media is used to blackmail the girls. According to her, footage is being made of the girls having sex with their boyfriends or with a ‘loverboy’. Afterwards this is enough to blackmail them to become illegal sex workers.
Marijke van Overveld of the Dutch police says: “We are talking about almost 1,400 minor victims yearly.” Overveld mentions the process of seducing and blackmailing the girls has shortened from months to two weeks or less.

Van Aartsen, who leads a group of researchers of the grooming phenomenon, says several different tactics are used to groom and prostitute the Dutch girls.
“Minors are set to work in another country [Belgium] as a method to keep them from running away,” the leader of the research group says. According to van Aartsen there’s a massive increase in the number of Dutch ‘loverboy’ victims.
The girls are being groomed, asked to send pictures and blackmailed with these pictures. The men increase the pressure and make the girls prostitute themselves. Some young girls have 20 customers in one day.
The ‘online trade’ of girls is one of the main reasons why Dutch, but also Belgian girls are increasingly prostituted. Girls are being groomed via Telegram, Tinder and school websites.
“It’s big business,” Van Aartsen says. “Sometimes 160 men reply to one advertisement within 48 hours.”
Research shows that 89 per cent of the pimps have migrant origins and 60 per cent are Muslims. They groom young and vulnerable girls via the internet and put them to work as prostitutes.
Maybe a lot of the victims are 2nd/3rd gen migrants, but I thought this was shit Sophie said didn't happen? -

The article goes on to say that most of the perpetrators have a migrant background the ethnicity that are mentioned are: "Marokkanen, Turken, Antillianen en Roma".
That means Moroccans, Turks, Netherlands Antilles, and Roma, the last of those are more commonly known as gypsies. Which means it's 50/50 muslim/christian. Dutch Antilles is a territory of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. They are Christian, Roma are orthodox Christian IIRC.
The way this works in The Netherlands is unlike the way it works in the UK. Where in the UK the majority of offenders were Muslim, and the police, media and politicians tried to cover up this fact. In The Netherlands child prostitution and related offenses are just some of the things Dutch organized crime is involved with. It's not systematic and it's not covered up, by the media and the police are cracking down hard on these issues.
Also, to put the scope of the issue in perspective. Estimates say about 1400 minors have been victimized in The Netherlands, let's increase this by an order of magnitude. Since i am sure a lot of these organized crime people are getting away with a lot more than the police have insight in/to. Ok that makes 14k victims. Any victim is one too much but if we're comparing the issue UK-NL then clearly the UK has it way _way_ worse. And like i said, Grooming and child prostitution is an organized crime thing here. They do all kinds of fucked up shit.
