Lol enjoy hoarding digital representations of federal reserve notes.
Ever try withdrawing 10k at once? It literally breaks any local branch and they have to phone the armored truck to make a special delivery for your worthless paper.
I remember handing my bank a $2000 cheque and asking for it all in cash and the guy starting panicking and trying to talk me out of it. I just told him I can't buy weed with a bank card and they approved the transaction.
Why the fuck does a bank have to approve me trying to get the money that I own? Oh that's right it's because I don't own it, the government backed banks own my money.
Bitcoin is the only real money, it's backed by the destruction of the natural environment for power consumption which is truly priceless.

Money is the only thing with value. Everything else can be converted into currency, even electricity. It is an idol through which humanity collectively worships the deity known as Desire.

I don't see how bitcoin mining could even begin to compete with established data and compute centres in terms of cycles used and heat generation

Nothing has "actual real value"

Well it was around forever and now we're in this brief period of it where we can "do shit" so yeah I'd say there's some value to it. At least currently. The concept of time anyway before it's brought up that time isn't real.

Gold has actual real value because it's expensive to mine, it's scarce and it has demand.
It is a finite precious metal which I consider to be valuable in of itself.
Any portfolio should have at least 10% in gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Gold has different value in different places and times.
Money is a technical term, and synonymous with the supply and retraction in credit supply - banks lending out money, businesses allowing each other time to pay, people buying stuff on credit, government and corporate issuance of bonds, as well as coins and notes are all forms of money. It's complex but easy to comprehend, though most people don't have a fucking clue.
I found Galbraith's "Money: Whence It Came, Where It Went" a fairly good introduction, and it's fairly readable as well thanks to Galbraiths humor and amusing realistic cynicalness. You can find pdf copies pretty easily.
