2016-05-08 at 4:04 PM UTCNever mind the $50.
Make sure DirectX9.c is correctly installed. Use dxdiag.exe from the command prompt to test.
Right click on the game's main executable which starts the game, or the shortcut, and go to the Compatibility tab... select "Windows98" from the choices and disable advanced text services there.
Download 3DAnalyze.
In 3DAnalyze, select the main executable, then in the Direct X 8.1 and 9.0 area, select "emulate HW TnL caps under "hardware Limits (cap bits)", then click "Run"
Try "windowed mode".
Play around with the rendering overrides. -

I appreciate the help, I went to go update directx9 on microsofts site and it said it wont let me because I'm using windows ten lol.. I went to the compatability tab and select windows98, i didnt disable advance text service;; . but I will try it now
Do you think this may just be an issue with windows 10?
I trouble shooted it, and it told me I could pay for an upgrade, which just took me to their site to download the game. I kinda don't want to pay a second time for this...\\
what also sucks is theres no real way to contact blizzard thru phone, you can put in a ticket, but you can only put in a ticket for diablo 3 or there other newest games
new blizzard is pretty gay, i also bought starcraft 1 and broodwars , haven't installed it yet but I hope I don't have the same issue
I'll let you know what happens -
2016-05-08 at 7:48 PM UTCI went and changed the "compatablity" and there is no "advanced text services" to disable.

2016-05-09 at 3:28 AM UTCare you talking about the compatibility tab in the shortcut properties? if not, you'll want to find the shortcut to the game in your start menu or whatever, right click > properties > compatibility, tick off compatibility mode and set it to Windows XP SP3.
apparently the default Windows10 install contains binaries that provide directX9 support, the game just probably isn't detecting them. if you can work out which files it's actually looking for you can download them individually and place them in the program folder - this (http://superuser.com/questions/979687/how-can-i-install-directx9-on-windows-10) link helps in that regard, but if you don't know specifically which files or which exact versions it needs it'll be tricky. -

2016-05-09 at 5:22 AM UTCThere is also a fully cracked ISO of Diablo 2 HERE, and a fully cracked GOLD edition ISO, including cracked expansion packs HERE. You can mount those images easily onto a virtual drive using DAEMON TOOLS LITE.
