2015-07-29 at 8:47 AM UTCStarting from A BOX OF 25mg EPHEDRINE AMPOULES for injection. Mostly water and salt in the solution, ephedrine was extracted all at once from the box to yield 1500mg pure ephedrine.

From AMMONIUM SULFATE 1kg you add 1kg SODIUM HYDROXIDE which produces a vigorous reaction generating ammonia gas and water.
Run a tube from the flask into a VERY COLD beaker sitting in an ice bath to produce CONDENSED LIQUID AMMONIA.

Like in the video LITHIUM METAL was placed into the vessel containing the condensed ammonia along with 500mg FREEBASE ephedrine in chilled ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. Solution went from blue to dark purple and eventually a hard black.

RXN fluid was quenched with water and enhancemented the lithium out. Aqueous sodium hydroxide solution was added until PH 14 and methamphetamine freebase floated to the top of the water

TOLUENE was added until all the freebase meth dissolved and the TOLUENE separated from the water.

TOLUENE containing freebased methamphetamine was gassed with hydrogen chloride gas to produce hydrochloride salt of meth.

And to recystalize, one must dissolve and anyhydrous acetone wont dissolve much of shit and they DEFINITELY do not grow back like that. Those are the grits you rinsed with acetone after you dumped em out your Sprite bottle. Good try, though. -

Using it before the lithium gets eaten up just makes the reaction require more lithium -

And I live in Canada where ephedrine is legal.
The only thing is, though, they sell it as pills (8mg a piece).
I can't imagine extracting the pill binders away would be too complicated, would it? -

Extracting pills has become quite a chore. The ephedrine supplement pills are a lot easier than OTC cold medicine.
You still have to deal with the usual suspects like starch, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and dyes but the ephedrine pills aren't usually formulated with weird hidden binders.
If you treat them like regular Sudafed you should get a clean extraction. Just make sure you follow a guide written in the past few years, any variation of the tetra trap should work
Best basifying agent is sodium carbonate, make it easily by putting baking soda in the oven at a high temp and gassing off the CO2. Don't use any water or strong bases like lye, it will set off hidden binders (gak) that will turn it into jello that doesn't dissolve in solvents

Like approx how many grams? Does it have to be precise? -

It's actually really easy, it's like a 100 year old reaction. Extracting pills is much more difficult and takes up the bulk of the work.
You can practice extracting other kinds of pills also so you don't waste precursors.

Biggest cost would be lithium/sodium metal, especially lithium from batteries. There are some pretty clever methods of obtaining it though.
