2018-10-16 at 11:11 PM UTCThe cool thing about old technology is you could make a video games for the NES by yourself and have it done in a reasonable time.
Once you bump that up to 16 bit it becomes much more difficult and complex to do things like graphics and object oriented programming by yourself without using some kind of pre built engine or having the skills to make it all from scratch.
ROM hacks for N64 games are just starting to become possible in the last few years and it's at its most basic level right now where you can make custom levels in games or new enemies.
This is a tech demo of a mod tool for a game that came out in the early 2000's and it's a very rough example of what could be possible from a full hack

I mean it's objectively very low performing hardware. If you want to value it as a collector's item then OK, I think retro computers are cool, but if you bought a computer in 2005 using unclocked DRAM for main memory then you got ripped off and that computer is garbage that never should have been manufactured.
Sorry if the way I talk offends you lol.

Good point, this is a historic day. We should record it for posterity.

It didn't offend me in the least. I'm just trying to help you make friends? By the way, calling outdated tech "garbage" is relative. -
