are you excited for bards tale IV? anyone else playing old school dungeon crawlers or games inspired by them? playing a game I found on itch that's Ultima inspired called Lurking. devs are pretty cool, saw them posting on rpgcodex. didn't realize how much I missed games where you typed out keywords and had to piece together puzzles and keep notes and draw your own maps. played some of those games when i was really young but they were already pretty old at that point.
i just love a good dungeon crawl where the graphics and story are basically afterthoughts and all the energy is poured into game mechanics and ways to make your life hell. lots of indie devs these days that go for pixel shit retro graphics (really bad ones at that, usually), but none of the charm or fun of the old games.
