I never understood the appeal of video games where you pretend to do something you could easily do in real life, like pinball or bowling or the like.

    BahahahAhahaha....

That looks like total shit. I didn't know VR was such garbage. I thought you were doing something cool all the time. Not this trash. Haha. Oh shit. That looks so retarded.

I hate to beat an old horse with this story.. but I really loved the simulation of WWII in BF42 and flying under bridge archways and shit.

took a while to be able to learn the flying joystick and not crash while in dogfights. I'd play that fucking thing for hours. so much fun. BFNam kind of sucked.. the map was too small for the jets but when you had to hike, it was brutal.

There was another game from the same period, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, which had an unbelievable "real-life" feel while you are flying around over the landscape. It was like you were actually in a real fighter conducting attacks on the ground and air. The causal visual relationship/contrast between movement on the ground and movement in the air was incredible and extremely genuine.

Your life is so miserable and pathetic that you've become unhealthily obsessed with this shit. It's supposed to be a fun hobby, not a replacement for an actual life, you fucking victim.

Combat flight games/sims are great. I played ace combat and elite: dangerous for a while but have been too busy with work lately to play much of anything

This was probably my favorite game as a kid. Never could beat that final mission with the fucking v-wings though.

Then, years later, I discovered emulation and was sad because I could play every game from my childhood EXCEPT for that one. Apparently it was coded in such a way that current emulation methods cannot play it

I never knew they had a PC version, wonder if it would work on today's windows

Yes, there's a PC version, and it would work on any Windows platform. It was actually released on both Windows and Nintendo64 at the same time, and the game itself was put together by independent software and video game developer, Factor 5 GmbH, with their Factor 5 game engine. Full support for all advanced video modes as well. You can still find ISO images of the game on the Internet, usually on so-called "abandonware" sites.

One of the things I loved about BF42 was this one silly flag game mod that allowed people to do shit they wouldn't normally do.

the ghosting in the walls. but you had to find the right group to play, some people who were serious and played the mod flag game wouldn't like campers (people who sniped from one spot) nor (and this is the funniest and best part) having someone wing walk and then when you flew down, that person would grab the flag.

this just made the game better because you had to have a camper to snipe the cunts when they flew back to their zone. it was like more of an amusement unreal type of event.. could happen I suppose. its like ST6 shit in 1942? but some people felt like they had to stick to off the shelf rules. fuck those groups >:[

pm me if you ever get back into E:D, I stopped playing but I've been meaning to get my headset set up and play it again

it is confusing with all the shortcut keys you need and not being able to see the keyboard though

Will do. I have it on PS4 and at times it's damn near unplayable without a joystick

Apparently, they got it working a while back:

I never knew there was a pc version. I'll probably just get that instead if there aren't any serious differences

Somehow I feel like that game is going to be one of those "nostalgia glasses" things and probably hasn't aged well

I'm glad that they slowed down the release of new systems to allow new game discs to be created and not be a system that isn't dated.

    Sarina Williams is upset.

Apparently the umpire guy thingy was a sexist and called him a liar.

some Japanese girl won it. whatever the trophy is called

I just saw this on tv.. right here and right now. I wonder if they would code that into a game on PS5.
