Anyone have experience doing this? Seems like an easy way to get an easy $20-100. Take a trip to anywhere, open a bank account under a local telephone number with a local address. Get a debit card. Withdraw the money you opened it with see how much you can overdraft it before it stops working, or better yet use it on an airplane for inflight duty free. Those transactions don't actually process until after the plane lands.
My buddy just went to shanghai and he says if you walk into any ICBC branch they will hand you over a debit card and account with nothing more than a passport and a local phone number. He didn't have the balls to overdraft it.
