That's more or less the statement the arresting officer made when it happened, though it wasn't reported by the majority of news outlets
Regarding the charges, police have a habit of stacking on as many as possible, even if they have no cause to as a means to increase the chances of securing a conviction, and it would be insane to think this case in particular wouldn't be affected by politics.
It'll be interesting to see what comes up as evidence - I've seen the longer video and I didn't see any indication that it was intentional

I heard it was the Department of Justice who are charging him, so the SJW Feds. They're supposed to be stacking as a means to coerce a plea bargain.
All they want is a conviction for something so that this can go into the history books. There has been so much fluff about this fat tart.
