I have this recurring dream. I've lost count of how many times I had had it.
A friend of mind I worked with for about four years left the company and went back to his home town.
He had gotten a teacher pregnant here before he left.
I heard later he commited suicide with a gun. I know for sure he is dead. Maybe a couple of years after he left.
I have dreams where I meet him and he isn't dead after all. I'll say, "WTF man you ain't dead!"
Weird. When I think the dreams have finally gone away I'll have another one. -

That's what I'm saying, how could you want that one single opportunity to experience what its like drawing a final breath, experiencing that transition from existence to nonexistence. The ultimate and final trip, its also the moment you find out for sure if there actually is something going on after death.
I don't believe there is tbh, but who can say for sure. I think its gonna be the same as before you were born, which seems most likely. Especially considering what happens to your consciousness when oxygen is cut off from your brain momentarily, you pass out and have no consciousness at all for that period. So it would very much seem that our body is a life support system which without there is no life, no consciousness, no existence at all.
That's how I see it anyway.

Where does your belief stem from that we're on a never ending journey? How strongly do you believe that, how confident are you that that's the case? 2018-08-12 at 7:57 PM UTCI read stories about car wrecks or whatever and it is reported that they "died instantly". How do they know? I would think there would be some amount of time to go from living to dead.

Since I’m certain we don’t “end” after death....I strongly believe we didn’t “begin” at birth....or this birth
I would stake my life on it since after the experience I had I am 100% certain we continue to exist as “ourselves” after we pass from this life
As for not remembering what was before we were born....maybe we do, but given we’re babies and can’t talk....by the time we can talk we don’t have the vocabulary to properly express our pre birth memories....or they’re dismissed as a child’s imagination?
Or perhaps when we pass this exsistance is forgotten

Decomposition is a science....it begins the moment tissues are deprived of oxygen.....in addition lividity ....or the settling of blood in the body based on its position can be used as a pretty close estimate as to when blood flow stopped and how long the body stayed in that position following death....organ and body temperature also drop at a predictable pace...
I’m sure they can ballpark down to minutes based on the time of the accident. -

"Within minutes" doesn't equate to "instantly." Being crushed and burned to death for 30 seconds is much more horriffic than being killed on impact. -

your body can still have a pulse for up to a few minutes after you die.
