2018-08-03 at 3:26 PM UTCI’m thinking about getting a landline just so people can hear when I hang up on them and slam the phone down.

You got friends, right? Friends and family no? And then the ODDS AND ENDS, the ACQUANTINCES and randoms that you probably have in YOUR phone, so you have to consider that others have YOU, in the latter category.
I have a good batch of nicknames in my contacts and so many of them I don't have a clue who they really are or I kinda do. Ya know shit like 'blue shirt dude with weed' or 'Pauly P' or whatever the fuck.
Everyone has em.
So, me personally, I'd guess like, maybe… Including again, family, friends, current former or otherwise, and the randoms, I'd guess HOPEFULLY
like maybe 150? For me.
150??!

2018-08-03 at 4:07 PM UTCNow that I think about it again, there's not really any reason very many people would have you in their contacts that you wouldn't also have in yours, ya know?
It's more likely that most of your contacts also have you, and perhaps some of them have deleted your contact over the years for whatever reason.
So the answer should be like 85-90% of your own contacts list. Or something. -

I should understand this but I'm tired and though I never worked for Ma Bell/ATT I worked on fiber optic cable installation .. the first of it's kind in the USA in my home town. for like a year and a half
problem.. 35 years ago.
so do I have to call the service provider and have them walk me through it? -
2018-08-05 at 5:39 AM UTCQuite possibly like 300. It seemed like a lot when I scrolled. I never delete people and I’ve never lost all my contacts.

The number has to propagate within the system. This could take anywhere from minutes to hours to weeks to propagate properly. It's a provisioning issue on the server side.
Another cause of this is when you have other lines in the home that are not registered on the billing account that don't have a suppression device plugged into those other line(s). -

OK that kind of makes sense. thanks Spec.
I should call them on my cell phone and ask them to walk me through and to complete it on their end if possible. then wait till it propagates and is finally functionable.
or ask them to reduce the price of my internet. I mean that's a 10 dollar value.
