    Well no, there is a significant different in not wishing to confront the person and not wishing to incur costs and criminal charges.

    I think most people don't want to incur those negative consequences. Being an adult is about understanding the difference between knowing when to kick ass and knowing when to serve up other forms of punishment...a lot of the pleasure in such a thing as keying...is you know they know but there isn't shit they can do about it.

    (obviously it helps if your car is a junker and you don't care if they key it back lolol).

    Causing them distress via damaging something the value as well as financial distress is a great way to send a message without actually bearing any consequences (as long as you are smart about when/how and where you do it).
