When they say, "because our enjoyment of our experience at their restaurant was the only thing that matter", what do they mean by this? I mean everyone knows that the reason the restaurant exists is because people need to make money, right? I'm genuinely confused as to whether this person is just so vapid and stupid that they are unsure of why restaurants exist, or they are just trying really hard to lie to themselves and keep up this charade with all the other normies that their lives are important and matter. Notice the last line: "we really felt like they truly cared about our dining experience."
So basically they are saying they were glad to be deceived by the restaurant, despite knowing in the back of their heads the entire time the restaurants purpose is to make money. They're not paying to eat, they're paying some waiter to pretend like they are important for a little while. To stroke their ego.
I went to lunch with some people recently and the waitress came and gave us our drinks and I said thank you as she handed me my water because it's habit, it's easy, and it's polite, and one guy got all irritated and was like "you know you don't HAVE to do that, we pay them so that we don't have to say thank you." Have I missed the point of eating out this whole time? Has everyone else already known that it's just an overpriced ego boost? Or are they all in on this collective denial? -
2018-07-20 at 12:11 AM UTCWtf , that’s just common courtesy I always thought
But then I forget everyone doesn’t have that ..
Good grief, I see nothing wrong with you saying thank you .. those are still people
And I have a force of habit to be extra polite to ANYONE handled my food .. seen too many videos on what some folks do to people food after a customer was rude lmao 🤨 -
2018-07-20 at 12:14 AM UTCMany companies are scared to death of a bad rating on social media that they direct their managers to do whatever it takes to prevent that. Sad, some even fire managers for X number of negative remarks whether true or not. It's all about the corporate bottom line. Fuck the truth should be their motto.

yea, whenever i'm at a restaurant with that guy i try to make it as clear as possible to the wait staff that i am not endorsing his behavior, by being extra polite, in hopes they don't spit in my food too -
2018-07-20 at 12:18 AM UTCI'm not sure I understand your post tbh. While the restaurant was under no obligation to offer them another side dish, since there was nothing wrong with the first one (she just didn't like it). They were courteous enough to offer another one (many places don't do that.)
It costs nothing to them and it leaves a nice impression to the clientele about the place. This couple would be more inclined to return to that place because the service was good, for example. It's a win win situation. -

see, you're doing it now. the post was clear and straightforward. you are just refusing to acknowledge its meaning in your mind because that might make you have to deal with the uncomfortable fact that you've been paying for attention and not food for your whole life, which you may think might shred your reality to bits. but i promise you, it's not that big of a deal. -

lol
Doing what Sherlock? Don't presume to know me or my habits about food. Where I eat, where I go and how am I used to. Don't embarrass yourself with stupid assumptions. I don't go out for dinner just to eat some food. I can cook and eat at home for that.
You go out for various reasons and one of them is to pass a good nice evening, in good company, where there is good food, possibly in a nice place where you feel served well.
I asked you a simple question. What's the problem with a good service in a restaurants? Why is that a big deal, you live in a cavern or smth? If you think courtesy isn't important, not just in a restaurant but everywhere, you are being delusional. But judging by your reply to me, that would seem to be a foreign concept to you. Carry on. -

I didn't answer that because it should have been obvious to any 5 year old retard that my point was not that there is something wrong with getting good service, but that paying for an ego boost is stupid and weird and people are fucking creeps -

exactly. typical normie bullshit to try to change the subject. and once again you expect me to extend you some sort of weird favor and pretend, along with everyone else here, that the very second post in the thread was not made by candyrein, a woman, and that i have nothing negative to say about it, in fact i made a thread praising her yesterday -
2018-07-20 at 12:42 AM UTCI only think about this kind of shit when I'm really stoned in a restaurant ordering food.

How is that paying for an ego boost though? That's what I don't understand in your comment.
From the reddit post, all I can see is a man who was positively surprised with a good service (as I said, they don't do that everywhere), and overall had a nice evening out with her partner. That's about it.
I had a similar experience about 6 years ago. I went out for dinner to a restaurant I had never been before. I ordered a past that I had never tried before as well. I didn't like it. There was nothing wrong with the preparation, just not my thing. I didn't ask for another dish. The waitress asked me if I wanted smth else, no problem. I said: "No, thank you. I am not even that hungry tbh and everything is fine. Just the dessert."
In the end, when she came with the bill, they had excluded my dish. I asked why, that I had no problem with paying it cause there was nothing wrong with it. She insisted that because I didn't eat I wasn't going to pay. I said thank you and left.
I thought it was nice of them and that's it. I never went back there. lol Not because there was anything wrong really, but when I go out for dinner I usually like to go to those 3-4 places I'm found of and used to. This to say that people don't become idiots or need to "boost their egos", just because a nice service in a restaurants. -
2018-07-20 at 12:58 AM UTCbecause he was happy that they made him feel like they cared about a certain thing, when we all know in reality they don't give a fuck about the extra dish, they probably just know that it's going to cost them a few bucks to make but get them a 5 star yelp review from easily manipulated yuppies.
that, and, have you been to restaurants in america? i hate when i go to a restaurant and the waitress starts to slightly flirt with you. save that shit for the dumbass fratboys coming in to get drunk at the applebees bar and watch sports. i know you don't want to fuck me or talk to me and the same goes for them so i wish they would just cut the bullshit and stop acting like they're my friends.
also douchey white people always complain about the decor in restaurants. wtf does decor have to do with food? nothing. it's a fucking sham.
