All I'll say most of tests or studies are done by the same industry who produces the product or funds the review. The ingredients and additives are bad and may be worse than beer to some. Especially if you guzzle down bottles full and look like Walmart shoppers addicted to it. Lol.

Of course people have allergies to all kinds of foods and food additives that doesn't make something endemically bad for everyone though…many people can die by eating peanuts for example.

The science says Aspartame isn't a heath risk unless you consume ridiculous amounts…which pretty much goes for ANYTHING.

..also ask a diabetic how they feel about sugar vs Aspartame ;)

That's actually what I'm saying...it's safe if used in small or normal amounts. But Asper can also be highly addictive where you end up drinking large amounts and the process in making the product using different chemicals can react differently in each person. Also some diabetics have huge fluctuations using Asper as it starts mimicing sugar and why many patients always switch brands or start using natural sweeteners instead if tolerable or used in lower amounts. Feeding a rat large amounts of Asper claiming it doesn't cause cancer leaves out 100's of other diseases and none are studied to get a real conclusion. So use wisely and if you see an issue examine it. Like PoorlyHung claiming Whey is causing rashes by a specialist...may actually be something totally different like protein enzymes on the skin reacting to laundry detergent residue in clothes.

Um did you read what I posted...re: the amounts a human would have to consume to match the levels where a rat developed cancer...2000 cans of diet coke A DAY....doesn't matter how much of an addiction you have you ain't gonna hit that number.

..but no Aspartame isn't addictive anyway...again feel free to cite the scientific study that says it is...and again rather than spouting your ill informed propaganda cite the actual scientifically backed links so we can read em...like I did.

As one of them states...100s of millions of people have used in over the last 20yrs...there is no evidence from that massive user base of what you are suggesting.

Yes and most studies are bias as I stated. I use private JH medical archives which are updated frequently and I'm sure Asper is not as safe as you think. This is from an open source on the Net...basically same idea.

How Does Aspartame Cause Diet Soda to Be Addictive?

According to a Journal of Neuroscience review published in 2010, aspartame interacts with the dopamine system of your brain. It triggers neuronal award systems without satisfying them.

Like alcohol and drugs, aspartame produces a positive reinforcing effect that temporarily boosts your cognitive processes and your mood.

This effect is achieved both chemically and due to the fact that the act of tasting a sweet substance also activates the pleasure generating circuitry of your brain. All of this adds up to solid addiction.

Caffeine Amplifies The Addictive Nature Of Diet Soda.

Remember that aspartame is not the only addictive substance found in diet sodas. Caffeine has been known to be strongly addictive since time immemorial.

Caffeine is a psychostimulant that is the most commonly used drug worldwide. When its effects are combined with the effects of aspartame, the addictive nature of diet soda is greatly amplified.

Caffeine works by increasing serotonin receptor sensitivity and raising levels of serotonin. It increases the production of dopamine (the feel-good neurotransmitter) by fitting handily into the adenosine receptors of the brain.

This is why caffeine does have some genuine medicinal use as a relaxant, and headache reliever and even a provider of some relief of light depression.

It’s important to realize that this type of valid application of caffeine use must be carefully monitored and measured.

The inclusion of caffeine in diet sodas is a sure recipe for abuse. Excessive use of caffeine disrupts sleep cycles and prevents your body from being able to repair itself.

Without intervention, caffeine abuse leads to addiction and causes an ever-increasing need for more and more caffeine to maintain “normal” functioning level.

People who are addicted to any substance (including caffeine and aspartame) will experience withdrawal symptoms when the substances are removed.

I didn't spout ill informed propaganda...the Journal of Neuroscience is good enough for me.
  14. "According to a Journal of Neuroscience review published in 2010"

That's not an accredited scientific source or study.

Googling that brings this up as your actual source...

    https://naturalsolutiontoday.com/health-dangers-diet-soda-addiction-aspartame.html

    lolz....

If you choose to believe the propaganda over multiple scientific sources and millions of man years of the stuff actually being used then you have revealed your intellect. ;)
  15. Aspartame is the safest, most well studied food additive in existence. I'm not citing sources as this literally falls under common knowledge.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!
  16. joerell African Astronaut [twine our circinate supersymmetry]
I told you it's an open Net source...still describes the same problem. Many scientific sources are bias due to funding...I read them all. Conclusion...I'm sure Asper is addictive worse with Caf and not a good product. If you think differently enjoy drinking as much Asper as you want. Intellect comes from seperating BS from facts and using logic to make a decision. Decades ago doctors and medical studies were claiming Thalidomide was safe for pregnant women and then deformed babies popped up. The FDA is the worse predictor of good health and actually the main source of allowing drugs into the general public that shouldn't even be there. Every person has a responsibility for their own health and no need to debate what I already know is good for myself. So if you like Diet Coke or whatever...go for it. Cheers.
